If you are an Internet guru who also loves cruising, you may find yourself in a dilemma when you go on your next trip. Sure, in theory you should be so enamored with all of the cruise’s activities that you shouldn’t have interest in the Internet, but for many the issue isn’t that simple. The Internet has become such a necessity in people’s lives that the thought of having to go just a day without it could make people feel just a little out of place. Fortunately, Internet technology has progressed so much that it is possible to get high-speed wireless Internet right on a cruise ship.
Most cruise ships allow two forms of Internet access: through one’s stateroom or through an Internet café. Both options can be very expensive. Expect to pay at least $25 per hour if you use Internet through a cruise ship. If you want to use the Internet for longer periods of time without paying that kind of money, you can consider using an Internet café near the ports that the cruise ship stops at. This way you only pay around $8 an hour.
So, ultimately, while Internet technology is available on most cruise ships, it is so expensive that you will only want to use it for a handful of hours throughout your whole trip. Still, it’s nice to know that it is out there. Indeed, what could be better than being able to check your email while looking at the beauty of the ocean?
