Disney Cruises

March 13th, 2008 · No Comments

Earlier in this blog I talked about how travelers should consider taking their kids with them when they go cruising.  In that article I discussed how most cruise ships have special accommodations for entertaining kids while their parents have their own fun.  Yet, why not consider going on a cruise where kids are the main focus?  You can if you decide to take your family on a Disney cruise.

Land Travel vs. Cruising

March 11th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Which is better… traveling on land or cruising? Well, having done both I would have to say that cruising is better. With land travel you have to pay separately for your lodging, transportation and food. Of these expenses food can add up, especially if you like eating at fancy restaurants. For this reason during our land trips we decided to eat very light for breakfast and lunch, while eating more lavishly at dinner.

Titanic Cruise

March 10th, 2008 · No Comments

Titanic-Nautical Resources and Cunard Cruises are planning a historic Titanic cruise in 2012. The ship that they intend on using is called “Queen Mary 2.” But besides that the goal is to try to recreate the positive experiences of the Titanic in hopes of remembering the men, women and even children that fought for their lives as the infamous ship sunk almost 100 years ago.

Some of the on-board activities will include: watching classic Titanic movies, listening to the stories of undersea Titanic explorers, gala dinners, custom balls and much more. As far as land excursions, patrons can visit Titanic Museum in Branson, Missouri. They will also get a chance to visit tourist attractions in Southampton, England.

Weekend Cruises

March 9th, 2008 · 1 Comment

If you find you’re unable to take extra time off from your job to go on a week-long cruise, consider weekend cruising.  With weekend cruises you leave Friday and come back Sunday or Monday.  So, you have a mini-vacation lasting 2 to 3 days.

Weekend cruises can be really fun, despite how short they are.  You still get the same type of amenities as you would on a regular cruise, including restaurant dining, live shows, buffets, gambling, room service and even land excursions.  In fact, weekend cruises don’t differ in that arena.

The Last Minute Cruise

March 5th, 2008 · No Comments

For vacationers that don’t like to plan their trips in advance, the last minute cruise might be the answer.  What is a last minute cruise?  It is a type of cruise that is scheduled less than a month in advance.  And, despite what many may believe, the last minute cruise can actually offer a wealth of discounts.  This is because they tend to reflect the vacation packages that cruise liners are struggling to sell.

March 4th, 2008 · No Comments

For the majority of people, taking a cruise is a pleasant experience. But there are a few people that encounter serious problems when they go on a cruise. These problems can include stalking, rape, illness and even murder. To make matters even worse, when these things happen often there is not any justice. This is because most of the time the cruise industry is so busy trying to cover up negative incidents occurring on their ships.

Political headway through Cruising

February 15th, 2008 · No Comments

A small chink was made in the tension between China and Taiwan on Monday when the ban on Chinese entering the country via sea was lifted for 700 Chinese cruisers aboard the Rhapsody of the Seas.

Previously, Chinese tourists could enter Taiwan only by plane, and at a limit of 1,000 maximum at any given time.

Could this small concession for Chinese pleasure-seekers be the beginning of a better relationship between China and Taiwan?

Using the Internet on a Cruise Ship

February 4th, 2008 · No Comments

If you are an Internet guru who also loves cruising, you may find yourself in a dilemma when you go on your next trip.  Sure, in theory you should be so enamored with all of the cruise’s activities that you shouldn’t have interest in the Internet, but for many the issue isn’t that simple.  The Internet has become such a necessity in people’s lives that the thought of having to go just a day without it could make people feel just a little out of place.  Fortunately, Internet technology has progressed so much that it is possible to get high-speed wireless Internet right on a cruise ship.

Taking Your Kids with You on Your Cruise

January 16th, 2008 · No Comments

Some people believe that cruises and kids don’t mix. They may think that a cruise is too boring for a child or that cruises are intended for more romantic, adult getaways. Well, while parents are entitled to have a private vacation every now and then, cruises can still be an excellent alternative when they are planning a more family-oriented vacation. And the notion that a cruise would be boring for a child is far from the case. This is because most cruise ships offer a wealth of activities specially geared for children and teenagers.
