The great wide, open sea, many men have dreamt of conquering it, feel the wind in their hair and forget about their problems. Many men want to cross the deepest seas; sail all over the world. That’s quite a dream, and a lot have been caught drowning in it.

First things first, you must learn how to sail. So go ahead and sign up for sailing school. Don’t have second thoughts, and don’t let fear get in the way. There are no valid excuses if you want to fulfill your dreams.

Perhaps you don’t know how to swim, but that’s just it, not all sailors know how to swim. The possibility of going or falling in the water is very small, not unless you’re sailing a small dinghy. If you have a ‘decent sized’ boat and you’re not sailing alone, the thought of going overboard should not even cross your mind. Besides, sailing schools won’t send you out without life jackets or an experienced crew.

Some people get seasick, true… but not a valid excuse as well. The best thing to do is dealing with it. You can take medications that ease seasickness, but most importantly, keep yourself busy with a lot of boat activities. It’s all in the mind, if you’re mind is occupied with doing boat activities, then there’d be no room for thinking about seasickness.

Young or old, weak or strong… it doesn’t really matter. Modern sailing boats or vessels, and boat equipments are readily available. This will enable anyone to set sail with ease and comfort.

If money is an issue, then worry no more. There are sailing schools that offer sailing lessons by the hour at quite reasonable rates. Sign up in a certified-commercial sailing school. Having no boat is not a disadvantage. Join sailing clubs and you’ll get round access to different boats at no expense. Maintaining your own boat can be quite expensive and you may encounter a lot of hassles.

You may want to gain sailing skills to get a better kno0wledge, so go out sailing as a crew-member. If you have the skill and a good reputation, the door to sailing opportunities will open its way for you.

Sailing should not be complicated, not for anyone. Learning the different equipments and the ‘sailor’s language’ will only take a little time, sooner or later the entire process will no longer be complicated or difficult.

Every person has two natures: one who wants to advance, and the other who keeps pulling back. Both want to gain control of the other. Opportunity knocks once in a lifetime… it probably holds true to others. But it doesn’t have to be.

Opportunity never seeks for a person; it’s the person seeking for it. Life furnishes us with a lot of opportunities to improve ourselves. We should always live up to what is expected of us.

Signing up for sailing school is just one of those tough life-changing decision If you want to succeed in sailing, desiring to be so is not enough. You have to pay the price, not in terms of money, but in effort.

The secret to success is for trying to improve yourself, learn everything you can, and carry it up to its execution. Sign up for sailing school and chase your dreams.

Don’t expect for smooth sailing all the time, sometimes it can be rough, but don’t be discouraged. Keep on with your journey. Not all waves are created equal.
