Cruise princess is exactly what it means—a cruise suitable for royalty. Cruise princess is the ultimate in luxury cruising in terms of amenities and high price… this type of cruise is designed for those who are well-off. But before we go into the details of this cruise it would be best to get to know some itsy-bitsy history facts behind this wonderful cruise.

Cruise Princess History Bits

The very first cruise princess was started in the mid sixties. The first princess cruise was made possible when Stanley MacDonald chartered ferry Princess Patricia for a Los Angeles cruise. Unfortunately Princess Patricia was not designed for tropical cruising and so she was replaced with a cruise ship which is more suitable for sailing tropical waters. The cruise ship was called Italia which was later changed into Princess Italia.

The ship Princess Italia was one of the first ships built to ever employ modern design elements. And by this it means that lifeboats mounted lower on the ship which gives ample space for the upper decks and then the engines were placed far in the rear which provides more spacious rooms amidships.

The construction of Princess Italia was sort of slow and it was said that the owners as well as the builders were bankrupted, that by the time the ship was finished, they had to turn it over to the bank. The bank in turn created a company that will charter or sell the ship and it was not long that Princess Italia was finally chartered. After Princess Italia other cruise princess liners followed.

Fine Dining the Cruise Princess Way

Cruise princess has everything to offer especially for those who just love fine dining. It offers various restaurant themes for example Italian, Asian, Southwestern theme, etc. Its world class chefs are professionally trained to satisfy even those hard to please gourmet aficionados. And the best thing about fine dining in a cruise princess is that there are no checks to pay after the meal since it is included in your fare.

In addition to the themed restaurants, guests are allowed to cross order which means that you can order any courses from menus of the other themed restaurants. So for instance you are dining in their Italian themed restaurant and you want sushi to be served— it is possible since cross ordering is allowed.

If you prefer a more romantic dinner for instance to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays or any other occasions, it would be best to make an early reservation especially if you plan to have it during peak hours. And for your comfort, cruise princess also offer concierge services which guests may call to help them make the reservations at any of the restaurants available on the liner.
