My name is Bob, I’m 43 and hope to begin a career in the cruise ship industry.
    BUT
I have a problem; I do not know where to start. I have a diverse work background and interests and feel they could be relevant to positions on board a cruise ship.

My main work background is in the building industry (plasterer/general builder, and hardwood floor layer and finisher), as a floor layer my position was as a working foreman. I have also worked in the catering industry as a cook and front of house for a chain of road side cafes attached to travel lodges, ran a kitchen in a residential home for the elderly also in a public house. I have craft skills, IT skills, and I enjoy helping people, it is a rewarding thing for someone to smile and say thank you.

My interests and activities are varied, from creative pass times to fishing and playing guitar, photography, and salsa dancing, I could go on! I like working with people and being a team member/player.

Where does one begin? There are so many areas to work in on bored a ship and many of them I think I could fit into, ideally I would like to work directly with the passengers, I did see a post for a creative person required to run work shops some time ago but I was still studying for my BA Honours Degree, that would be an ideal job situation for me.

If any body could give me a little guidance as to how one starts a career on a cruise ship at my age and with no actual cruise ship experience please could they write to me by e-mail, my e-mail address is badder_bob@hotmail.com

I will consider any position on bored but like I have said I would prefer to work directly with the passengers.

    Kind regards
    Bob
